bug: Map preview stops working after 2K(?)+ maps

Description

Map preview in the map editor is no longer working.

Not sure when it stopped but around 2K+ maps.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Make 2K+ maps
2. Look at preview
3. See it doesnt load anymore

Okay so it does load after like 10 minutes.

Maybe my specs? Maybe a button with a progress bar where you can force it so you can at least see what's going on?

Can potentially close or move to enhancement because it works after some time.

I'll leave this issue open, it's not a bug, it still loads, but the more maps, the longer it takes, regardless of the CPU specifications, we need a different approach than the current one, or more cleaning that can improve performance, the current code/system is not prepared for something this big, perhaps it was designed with much fewer maps in mind, so other approaches must be thought of and implemented

3080 maps and it stops loading at all for me!

Yeah.. instead of taking full size map snapshots and scaling them down every frame we'd need to probably have smaller mipmaps.
