How to define a custom .egroup

Hi, I'm trying to configure the plugin to show only files with a specific extension. I.e., inside a folder I may have many file pairs consisting of a .py, and .script file, but also maybe a .script.auto, or a .tmp, or something else. Of those, I would like to only see the .py and .script, and nothing else. Is there some way to achieve this? I've played around with a custom .egroups file, but didn't get it to work.
