Standalone Operation (Laptop Only)
Are you running your mainboard as a standalone device. Is standalone mode enabled in the BIOS?
- Yes
- No
Describe the bug
When there are devices (jumpdrives, SSD enclosure, external HDMI display, etc) connected to port 4 and/or 5, it'd get disconnect randomly until re-seat the expansion card. It seems to only happens when BIOS is set to Optimus. When I set the BIOS to "NVIDIA GPU only" or disable the 5070 from device manager (using only iGPU), the computer behaves normally. Most reliable way for me to reproduce is to open NVIDIA Control Panel a few times, then the device on port 4 and/or 5 would get disconnect
Steps To Reproduce
- Enable NVIDIA Optimus in BIOS
- Connect any devices to port 4 or 5 (USB-A, USB-C, HDMI are the only ones I tried)
- Once boot into Windows, open and close NVIDIA Control Panel (Adjust Image Settings with Preview) a few times
- Port 4 and/or 5 would disconnect
- Disable 5070 in Device Manager or Enable "NVIDIA GPU only" in BIOS
- Restart
- All external devices behaves normally
Expected behavior
External devices should not disconnect/un-power if there's switch between dGPU & iGPU
