Ankiconnect android blocked by play protect

As of March 1st, 2026, play protect on android is disallowing installation of ankiconnect android and removing it if it's already installed.

I'm on pixel 8, android 16.

I believe an appeal has to be submitted by the app developer to fix this.

I also had the app uninstalled on me this morning. Strange, I don't remember ticking any settings to uninstall apps that Play Protect is suspecting. I disabled it entirely and reinstated the app.

Same as well, from USA. Resolved by disabling Play Protect.

I personally didn't spot anything here which would cause them to take it down and according to what users have told me all other builds work just fine

Yes, I submitted an appeal as soon as I found out about it a few days ago, but these things take time so please be patient

I'm going to leave this open whilst the app is blocked as I assume the issue was created for awareness
