memory issues in regular sodium that are not in sodium mac

sodium mac magically fixes runaway allocation issues (among other issues) on mac, windows, and linux. I need to capture someone with a broken computer and have them disable mixins until we can find the one at fault, because it seemingly is apparent from startup.
