Rf_rnbeta referenced but not declared in Rcpp/Rmath.h

Hi @eddelbuettel,

I’m currently developing an R package that depends on Rcpp, and I recently started getting a compilation error when running devtools::check_win_devel() (checking on R-devel via win-builder). The build fails during package installation with the following error:

Rcpp/Rmath.h:163:100: error: '::Rf_rnbeta' has not been declared; did you mean 'Rf_rbeta'?

That is not an Rcpp issue but an R-devel issue so please direct this to them, see e.g. here.

Ignore the commit messages. Rcpp is not at fault here: we accessed a function present in these headers for dozens of years, now suddenly pulled and hell breaks loose. We did not cause this.

PS For what it is worth we are trying to work around it in this branch and this PR but they are not at CRAN yet, and likely will not be for a while.
