GSoC 2026 Interest - OpenROAD-MCP Docker Deployment & Testing

Hi @jackluar @chaitanya and OpenROAD community,

I'm Aman Sharma, B.Tech ECE student (graduating 2027) interested in the OpenROAD-MCP Docker Deployment and Cross-Platform Testing project for GSoC 2026.

Background

• Built comprehensive FPGA verification system with self-checking testbenches (100% coverage)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD workflows
• GitHub: Project Helios

Project Understanding

From the GSoC project description, I understand the key deliverables:

• Production Docker images with optimization
• GitHub Actions CI/CD automation
• Cross-platform validation (Ubuntu, macOS, WSL2)
• Integration tests using real ORFS flows
• Performance benchmarking with historical tracking
• Load testing infrastructure

Questions

1. What's the current state of OpenROAD-MCP's containerization?
2. Are there specific ORFS flows to prioritize for integration testing?
3. What performance metrics are most critical to track?

I'm planning to submit my proposal by March 20 and would appreciate any guidance on project scope and priorities.
