The worst paths seen during GPL Timing Driven iterations are not the actual worst paths of the flow. This can be seen by running a repair_timing after the placement stage in ORFS. With the intention of bridging the gap between worst GPL and GRT worst paths, the following are proposed:
- Add repair timing in addition of repair design to TD GPL
- Test the best configurations for the repair timing
- Try a variation with only repair timing instead of repair design
