Checking text domain locally vs after upload

After uploading a plugin the text domain seems to have additional steps to verification.

The text domain is always identical to the plugins slug, on the wordpress.org website. The initial slug is derived from the plugin name. The plugin name is derived from the file that contains the plugin name.  If you change the slug on submission in some way, then you change the text domain

I'm not sure if or how this is being checked locally. The last 2 plugins I submitted had similar issue when I went to submit. Both checked out fine locally but required additional changes after submission.

Hello Troy,
When we run Plugin Check on wordpress.org, it uses the existing slug of the plugin. You can see it here

The plugin slug then comes from here.

I don't see where the problem is.

What I was wondering is how this check was happening locally. I had a text domain that did not match my plugin folder name, or the primary php file, but locally the plugin check didn't flag any errors. That wasn't noticed until I submitted it for review.

It does not check the folder; it checks the proposed slug entered in the submission form. The first time, it takes it automatically.

The issue I had was locally. But now that I know what I did wrong it's an easy fix to my own personal workflow. I just thought I would mention it for the next person who might not understand the relation between slug, folder and text domain.
