I know there we some questions about using in-car wifi.
I've got an Q7 which provides the Wifi hotspot but the Android Auto is USB only. Trying to find a solution that would provide AA via WIfi and will provide internet access at the same time. I know the phone would happily use mobile network while connected to the wifi with no internet access but in the car has SIM with roaming enabled (+lots of data) and I would rather stick to it.
so the questions are:
- If aa-proxy connects to the car's Wifi as a client, would AA still work?
- If not, The RPi Zero 2W can act as Wifi Client and AP at the same time (in theory), did anyone try using it as a router (simple NAT)
I know performance will be very limited as it will use the same channel and 2.4GHz for both but perhaps will be good enough.
- If not - perhaps we can use additional dongle (5Ghz) to provide AP and use the internal RPi as the client?
Did anyone tried one of above?
