Well, anyone-protocol is called with the selected exit. However, no UI feedback whatsoever.

In Orbot, the selected exit was displayed in the main scene. With the redesign, that somehow fell under the bus.

Can you @cl0ten or @0xneuratic let me know how the selected exit country should be visualized?

Yeah, I saw this happening myself, also with Orbot. Unfortunately, it's non-obvious, why that happens and there is no clear path to reproducing it. I will try to track this down the next time I see it happening.

This is, how Orbot Android shows, which exit country is selected:

(And I absolutely cannot recommend, how it's been done there nowadays, but at least, it shows at all.)
I suggest a status message like this somewhere:

Exit country: 🇩🇪 Germany

Decided in chat to just replace the icon in the "Change Exit" button to either a globe or a country flag.

Ok, so I found system-wide now with your help (Just don't pick an application and the default mode is "Full Device VPN")

Flags on "Change exit" are visible now ✅

I was required to uninstall to install the new (lower version number) build.
Also required a device reboot before connections worked properly on "Global (Auto)".

However; changing exit still breaks the connection and it doesn't reconnect again
Logs look like this at that point, repeating the last notice over and over again until it's stopped/deactivated:

Ah, yeah. The list of countries is hardcoded. For Orbot Apple, I use a build script, which checks a Tor statistics system, about which countries are actually available. IDK, why this list in Orbot Android was hardcoded.

Anyway, of course it's something which matches the Tor network, not necessarily the Anyone network.

Is there a system which provides this kind of data automatically for the Anyone Network? If yes, I could do something similar to what I do with Orbot Apple.
If not, I would need your educated guess about which countries we should offer here.

none of the publicly available statistics like consensus, descriptors or micro descriptors are showing countries unfortunately, as far as I can find.
