- Named volumes are automatically created when defined in compose files
  - Volumes persist data between container restarts
  - Support for external volumes (pre-existing volumes not managed by
compose)
  - Proper cleanup with compose down --volumes
  - Full compatibility with Docker Compose volume syntax
