Android crash - Method addObserver must be called on the main thread

I had the same problem and I have solved it by adding:

Permissions in the AndroidManifest.xml

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.USE_FINGERPRINT" />

Add following to module build.gradle:

implementation "androidx.biometric:biometric:1.1.0"
