Fractional scale factor: Crash

A fractional scale factor seems to cause crashes. Review the input validation and scaling behavior.

The crash may be related to an uncaught NumberFormatException in the line

scaleFactor = Math.max(1,Integer.parseInt(scaleField.getText()));

Is the scale factor meant to be an integer, or a double? i.e. should fractional scale be rejected, or allowed?

I think the issue was that non-ints cause a crash (uncaught exception).

The high priority is avoiding a crash for a (moderately) common error.

I think there is merit in supporting fractional scales to "zoom in", but I haven't looked at the underlying drawing to identify the effort required. (If it works as-is, great!)

It looks like the "zoom in" would be a non-trivial enhancement. I tried that, but it looks like many things depend on the numbers being integers for performing discrete increments.

It could be a possible improvement in the future, but it should probably be its own issue separate from just preventing crashes.
