Description
This proposal introduces a V2X Exposure API for CAMARA, designed to expose vehicle-to-everything capabilities to application developers through standardized network APIs.
The proposal builds on ETSI MEC V2X Information Service APIs and introduces a CAMARA northbound abstraction that simplifies access to V2X capabilities such as provisioning, message distribution, and event subscriptions.
A Transformation Function (TF) can map MEC edge APIs to simplified CAMARA service APIs, enabling developers to consume V2X capabilities without needing to understand radio-level network details.
The proposal is motivated by real edge-enabled smart city use cases, including connected emergency services and cooperative road safety applications.
Use cases
Connected Ambulance Routing – Real-time hazard alerts and optimized routing for emergency vehicles.
Collision Risk Detection – Edge systems notify nearby vehicles and vulnerable road users.
Remote Medical Triage – Ambulances stream patient data to hospitals using edge infrastructure.
Smart City Traffic Services – Infrastructure and vehicles exchange safety and traffic information.
