Separate fonts for GUI and documents

Hello!

I love QualCoder and have been covertly preaching to my colleagues about it for some time now. 😁 One issue I'm struggling with, however, is fonts. Seeing as many qualitative transcription conventions use equidistant fonts which don't look too good on user interfaces (especially if you work with non-Latin transcripts, e.g. Chinese), I was wondering if anyone is working on separate font settings for GUI and the document viewer?
I am not familiar with the codebase, but seeing as the font size can be configured separately for documents and UI in the settings dialog, would it be possible to add a similar setting for document font?

Please let me know if/how I can contribute to this in any way!

@anouarg88 Yes I think this will be possible. I'm thinking most users won't want this, but I can add a 'hidden' right-click option.

E.g. left- or right-click on the Tt label to open a font selection window.

Once the font is changed, it would need to be tested (ideally by you with your different language documents - Chinese) to show that the line numbers, and an upcoming vertical coding stripes display, are not affected negatively.

@ccbogel That sounds good! A hidden option would work – maybe mentioned in the label's tooltip? I could imagine a dedicated drop down in the settings or right next to the Tt label as well. Either way, I look forward to testing this!

In my opinion, it's can be in visible option. We can have the possibility to have the font system for the UI, and specitic font for the working space, e.g for accessibility?

@ccbogel Awesome! Thank you so much! Will this feature be implemented in the next major version? Would you like me to test anything? Except for some ancient texts/calligraphy, modern Chinese is usually displayed horizontally (left to right) by the way. So I don't actually need vertical coding stripes. But choosing separate fonts for the documents is going to be a real game changer!

Hi. Perhaps test this feature from the current code (Qualcoder-master) to see if it works for you as needed. Yes it will be in the next version.

Hi again! Just wanted to say it works really beautifully! Thank you so much for implementing this!

The only thing I noticed you might want to look at in the future is how long the font settings last. As it is now, they last for one instance of loading the coding environment. As soon as I go to file managing, for instance, the document font resets. The same is true for the document font settings dialog, by the way. When I open it, it does not show the current document font/size but the settings for the UI font.

I just gave it a try. The setting stays put now and even transfers to the other files - how wonderful!
