1. Maintainer Container

• Location: .devcontainer/maintainer/devcontainer.json
• Toolchain: .NET 9 + Java 21 + Maven + Gradle + Node.js + Marp CLI
• Extensions: Full suite for both stacks + documentation tools
• Purpose: Workshop authors, facilitators, contributors

2. .NET Participant Container

• Location: .devcontainer/dotnet-participant/devcontainer.json
• Toolchain: .NET 9 SDK only
• Extensions: C# Dev Kit, Copilot, markdown tools
• Auto-loads: .github/copilot-instructions.md
• Purpose: Workshop participants on .NET track

3. Spring Boot Participant Container

• Location: .devcontainer/springboot-participant/devcontainer.json
• Toolchain: Java 21 + Maven + Gradle
• Extensions: Java Pack, Spring Boot extensions, Copilot, markdown tools
• Auto-loads: .github/copilot-instructions-springboot.md (from Create Spring Boot Steering Document #17)
• Purpose: Workshop participants on Spring Boot track, enterprise Java teams

4. DevContainer Selection Guide

• Location: .devcontainer/README.md
• Content: Decision tree, comparison table, troubleshooting, next steps
• Purpose: Help users choose the correct container

Changes Made

• Removed: .devcontainer/devcontainer.json (legacy root config)
• Reason: Forces explicit container selection for bilingual workshop

Testing Required Before Merge

• Test maintainer container builds both solutions

• Verify container selection UI works correctly
• Validate Copilot Instructions auto-load

Status: Complete and ready for testing once Spring Boot code samples exist (#31).
