Adding ecommerce badges that can only be managed on a general badge paragraph level, leaves little room for flexibility and control on the individual product level. But real-world product catalogs rarely behave uniformly and often are products synced from an ERP long before the badge lifetime needs to start - i.e any new products with a "News" badge. This makes the ecommerce badge functionality irrelevant unless you have a very uniform product catalogue which is rarely the case for B2B customers.
