[BUG] Satisfactory Gameserver

Hey Guys,

when installing a Satisfactory game server it works fine.

However when restarting it, it will delete the dir .config in the basedir (the dir, where server, pserver, Steam is located).

In this dir the save files are stored, so it is mandatory, that it wont get deleted on every restart.

Any ideas how to fix it?

What template are you using? And how did you fix the permissions for the gameserver?

Setup

I just setup the server with this template:
satisfactory.txt
and adding 770 to the masteserver/satisfactory/ folder.

In file <easywi_webfolder>/htdocs/stuff/methods/class_app.php in the private function linuxStartApp () { function, you need to change

After that, it doesn't delete the .conf folder for satisfactory games.

Careful

$this->appServerDetails['template']['shorten'] == 'satisfactory'
needs to reflect your shortname you gave the satisfactory template!

PS: restarting the server doesn't work, probably on my side, as the FactoryGame process doesn't stop while using stop in easywi,. I've to kill it manual… If you've managed to get that working, let me know.

I created the same template as you have.

It works now with your fix in the class_app.php

I have a suggestion to fix the gameserver-stop for satisfactory:

Maybe just use the command killall -u USERNAME

Im just bad at PHP so I dont quite know how to implement this.

Maybe try to use the "copy Binary" option in the template settings. See if this is changing anything for you.

Fixing the permission problem

@AEon-Jan please read both options and let me know what option you would prefer.
If you prefer option2, maybe panther can help with it.

Option1

Using the old template but with copy Binary the server also needs this file UE4Server-Linux-Shipping inside /server/satisfactory/Engine/Binaries/Linux/ as non symlink to be working. Which means we need to add this file just like the gamebinary with chmod 700.
Therefore, we need to add this to private function copyStartFile

Option2

Using this template:
satisfactory.txt
The server needs to be started with UE4Server-Linux-Shipping FactoryGame ... inside /server/satisfactory/Engine/Binaries/Linux/

Using this template, another issue arises. The screenlog.0 is now located inside the engine/... folder and not at /server/satisfactory

This could be fixed with changing the screen command in generateStartCommand () from:

Needs to be redone as we need to save the world before stopping the server to prevent losing data.
Something like arkCheckSleep(); but with "quit" as command.
