Sometimes I can't run Nemo, either from the console or the GUI. I need to restart my computer or session.

When I try to run it, I get the following error:
"pyroxar@zero:~$ nemo
Could not register nemo as a remote: Przekroczono czas oczekiwania
"

Experiencing the exact same problem as described by OP.

Running nemo from the GUI launcher simply does nothing. Running nemo --debug in the terminal prints one extra line, probably not all that helpful but still.

Could not register nemo as a remote: Timeout was reached

A reboot fixes it, and this usually happens after I've been at the computer for a couple of hours.

EDIT: In this case unplugging my phone from my computer (I'd forgotten it was there) caused nemo to become un-stuck and the file manager windows suddenly popped open. Maybe related/dup of #3270

Same problem here, quite soon after a reboot. I had an old Android-tablet plugged in I used yesterday as a test device for development. Thanks to this comment I tried unplugging it and Nemo started working immediately! 👍️

Similar resolution if Keybase gets stuck. Bounce Keybase and Nemo starts working. The common thread is probably the /keybase file share.
