Bug description
The search highlight doesn't deactivate after changing tab and closing the search bar.
My configuration
xed 3.8.4
Linux 6.19
Fedora 43
Cinnamon 6.4.12
Steps to reproduce
- Make sure you have at least two tabs open, both containing text.
- Type
Ctrl+f to open the search bar.
- Type some text to search. Make sure the search pattern is present in the opened tab.
- The corresponding search results get highlighted.
- Select the other tab.
- Click "Next" on the search bar to search the pattern in the other tab.
- Close the search bar.
- Go back to the first tab.
- The search bar disappeared because the user closed it, but the search results are still highlighted.
- To deactivate the highlight, you have to type
Ctrl+f to open the search bar then explicitly close it on the tab.
