I'm not yet reverse proxy savvy. It would be super to have some kind of authentication

Basic auth is not very secure. Implementing proper auth methods take a lot of dev time and add a lot of overhead.

We recommend our in-house maintained reverse proxy SWAG, which comes with built-in proxy confs and support for various auth solutions like Authelia and Authentik, but you can use any reverse proxy solution.

Alternatively, you can use cloudflare tunnels to access it. We have a cloudflared mod: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-mods/tree/universal-cloudflared
