High drive current mode setting for GPIO on nRF52833

I've been doing some testing recently and noticed the micro:bit V2 (nRF52833) constrains the current on its GPIO more than an Adafruit Feather nRF52840 Express. I suspect there's an issue here with the current mode for the GPIO. Is that set for nRF52 series processors for MicroPython?

• BBC micro:bit V2 running MicroPython the "Orange 5mm LED" only draws 5mA from GPIO, drags voltage down to 2.28V
• Adafruit Feather nRF52840 Express running CircuitPython the "Orange 5mm LED" draws 11mA from GPIO, drags voltage down to 2.79V

I'd note this consumes time when debugging problems where hardware works on the V1 but not on V2 as this is yet another thing to test. The only way to enable it in MicroPython is esoteric and error-prone.
