Problem

The Test Agents documentation still describes the old MCP workflow.

Solution

The test agents could use the new playwright cli commands to plan, generate and heal.

The thing that I'm getting confused by, coming from having used the playwright MCP server in VSCode until now, is the entire install list for making this work. E.g. it seems I still need to install playwright to have an agent use playwright-cli. Additionally, do I need the MCP server running as well for things to work? It's unclear. Basically, a zero-to-complete from-scratch "Getting Started" doc.

Using the current SKILL.md in VSCode w/ GH Copilot, for example, is very unreliable as it really doesn't like typing into input prompts from a CLI. The MCP server gave a much better experience.

It should be zero install, similar to the mcp. It uses a slightly different model for managing browsers, but that is something that should be transparent to you.
