I had the same itch — kept SSHing into my machine from my phone to check on Codex sessions and it was miserable. Ended up building a tool called CodeVibe that sidecars onto Codex CLI and streams the session to an iOS / Android app over encrypted events. You can see what the agent is doing, answer approval prompts with the file diff right on your phone, and send follow-up messages — all without disrupting the desktop session. Desktop and mobile stay active at the same time. Also works with Claude Code and Gemini CLI if you use multiple agents. |

How far up the roadmap is remote control?
I have been using farfield for remote control of my WSL codex instances, and it's just not very good and GPT-5.4 xhigh is not yet good enough to make it work well. Claude code does it, apparently well.
I understand that #9224 exists and I have upvoted. This discussion is intended to extract a forecast of wen from OAI staff, to assist the open source community in whether they should invest the time in making the current tools good.
