Request: Use the formula/cask descriptions if they are in the file.

There are a few things going on here:

1. when I import this file and then export it, all of the descriptions are gone.
2. if I import the same file with the descriptions in it, the TUI does not display the descriptions.
3. not sure where the descriptions it is displaying are coming from, they don't match the brew info descriptions.

Thanks for the detailed report and the example file — super helpful.

You're right on all three points. The root cause is that RemoteConfig stores packages as []string (names only), so the desc field from your JSON is dropped during parsing. The descriptions you see in the TUI come from an internal catalog (packages.yaml), not from the imported file or brew info.

We're tracking this and plan to:

1. Preserve desc through import → TUI → export round-trips
2. Show the imported descriptions in the TUI (falling back to the catalog when no desc is provided)
3. Include descriptions when pushing/exporting configs

This touches several subsystems (config parsing, TUI, snapshot, sync, push) so it'll take a bit to land cleanly. Will update here when it ships.

Fixed in v0.45.14. Package descriptions are now preserved through import → TUI → export/push. brew upgrade openboot to get the fix.

The v0.45.14 fix only covered the --from path — the snapshot editor was still catalog-only. Fixed in v0.46.1. brew upgrade openboot
