@rocky-peng with the time / effort required to learn chinese I could invest it in becoming an expert in many topics instead (e.g studying machine learning) the second option is to me more valuable than the first by order of magnitudes and my time/energy is finite

BTW I am a French native.
English is the universal langua franca and every other native should translate interesting writings in the universal lang in order to share it to the biggest human common denominator
