Like Bikeshed, it would be nice to parse and link CDDL.

FYI, I ported the Python version of the CDDL parser that powers CDDL support in Bikeshed to JavaScript. It's called cddlparser and is now available as an npm package. The parser can turn a CDDL definition block into an abstract syntax tree (AST) and re-serialize that AST to a CDDL definition block, optionally applying a marker that can typically provide the markup wrapping logic to add highlighting and cross-references. Documentation is a bit lacking for now. Relevant logic in Bikeshed is in bikeshed/cddl.py.

The parser should hopefully be a good fit to add support for CDDL in ReSpec too (other available parsers are less suitable for serialization purpose). If someone's willing to look into it, I'm happy to help. I'll look into it otherwise... time permitting!

Main one would be what has now become webdriverio/cddl. The Python version started as a direct port of that one, and the JavaScript version should remain pretty close as well. I haven't checked the code of webdriverio/cddl recently, but the main problem was that it did not preserve whitespaces, parentheses, and other side tokens in the AST that are needed to preserve the initial formatting in a CDDL -> AST -> CDDL transformation. This should be where the two implementations deviate the most.
