iBoost questions

Hello,
I'm having a few issues with my iBoost settings. Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding something. It's configured as follows:

and in addition, inside apps.yml: iboost_energy_today: sensor.whirlpool_energie_taglich

Is it correct, that the iBoost column in the plan is always starting at 0 (-) ?

and in the log file every 5 minutes:
2026-03-20 14:10:23.748053: iBoost model today updated to 0.0

i think its fine, because also every 5 minutes:
026-03-20 14:10:03.172685: Today's actual load so far 7.9kWh with 3.13kWh car/iBoost excluded, and 0.87kWh import ignored.

What influence has the input_number.predbat_iboost_today ? its allways 0
If i set this to a value!=0 the iBoost column in the plan started at this value...

it is the iboost energy planned for the day, so will naturally start at zero

likewise input_number.predbat_iboost_today is explained in the output data part of the documentation https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/output-data/#iboost-solar-diverter-data

So, this value should incremented over the day and not stay at zero ? It is always zero, or the value i entered there.

as per the documentation link, that should be incremented.

If you look at the history for that entity, what do you see, is it a flat line at zero, or does it get increment as iboost occurs and then get reset to zero?

Either way, please provide all details and raise it as a bug because it should be being incremented

I'm not sure it is a bug, it is more my own stupidity.

i did something wrong today. What happens if i write a value by myself to input_number.predbat_iboost_today ? is it still overwritte if iboost is active ?

From what I read in the documentation, the input_number.predbat_iboost_today is what predbat increments as iboost occurs, and looking at your graph, it appears to have been doing that on previous days?

I expect that predbat would get the details of what energy has been iboosted from the apps.yaml config:
iboost_energy_today: sensor.whirlpool_energie_taglich

Is that sensor behaving itself?

now it works again correct. i played around with this sensor today

My savings have been negative since I started using iBoost. I suspected that the iBoost’s power consumption wasn’t being detected correctly, so I reset the power consumption sensor. Now it’s set as an incremental sensor with a daily reset.

One nightly reset and everything works.
