We've seen that metrics can be surprisingly expensive (especially for metrics that have histograms). Metrics have continued to accumulate, but it's plausible that some of these are no longer relevant. It's probably worth going through and removing metrics that don't appear in the stellar-core full dashboard and downgrading metrics where possible.
