Where would this make most sense to be configurable? On the context or connection?
From a usage perspective it will most likely always be done on the entire application, so it could be per context, but I'd say from a logical standpoint it'd make more sense per connection.

Maybe we should revisit #232 on that occasion.

I agree per connection is the logical API even if most apps will set all connections the same.
