Pdf Preview cannot be set to "play" automatically like jpg and svg

I have installed the Preview addon, but when I click on a pdf file, the preview does NOT appear unless I also click a "play" button. This causes repeated delays which is annoying. Can the preview be set to display a pdf file immediately when clicked on?

Hi, this doesn't exactly answer your question, but for file previews, there's the "QuickLook" add-on. Simply select the file and press the spacebar to see the preview in a new window.

Here are the steps:

1. Install the "QuickLook" add-on in Tablacus (It installs like any other Tablacus plugin).

2. In Tablacus, go to Menu -> Tools -> Add-ons -> QuickLook -> Options (gear icon) -> Get QuickLook.
   You must install the QuickLook application. Alternatively, you can download it for free from the Microsoft Store.

3. Once QuickLook is installed, if it's running, its icon should appear in the Windows taskbar. Right-click on that icon and select "Start with system."

4. Select the .pdf, .jpg, etc. file you want to preview. Press the spacebar, and a window will appear with the file preview.
   To preview Office files (.doc, .docx), install the plugin from this link: https://github.com/QL-Win/QuickLook/wiki/Available-Plugins

Thanks ‒ I did find the quicklook addon, but it does not allow use of the horizontal arrow buttons beyond the cutrent row in thumbnail view (so the arrow buttons fail to do anything after a few presses and bowsing previews becomes cumbersome). Also, suddenly for no apprent reason, double clicking a folder fails to open it and show the next level down! It ꀤ delete the config file, this fixes the issue but ꀤ lose all my addon settings . (1) The patch version has been enhanced to autoplay PDF (and media if specified).

Your base version of TE must be 25.6.8. To make a patched version:

1. Install a new copy of TE250608.
2. Delete the addons folder from the new copy.
3. Copy addons and config (and icons, if any) folders from your current TE to the new copy.
4. Run Patch.cmd or PatchAdd.cmd on the new copy.

(2) Use "Right key next" add-on to wrap to next / previous row when you press Right / Left arrow key at the edge in a thumbnail view.

Wow. Thanks so much! All working brilliantly now, though I note that with preview enabled (with autoplay), if I click a file, it previews fine, but the preview is lost if I move the mouse over another file (for example in the process of moving to scroll through the preview of a multi page pdf), despite not selecting another file. I have tried every major and many minior file explorers and Tabacus (apart from when it corrupted and failed to respond to double clicking to try and open a folder) is the best by a long way. Hi. Any advice regarding trying to setup automatic folder views for folders containing image files to large icons sorted descending by date. I have tried the Folder settings addon to no avail. Also, I am trying to add buttons to the Linkbar toolbar addon to sort by name and sort by date descending, but cannot find a Type/Options combination to achieve this. (A) Clear "Mouse" check box of "Preview" add-on options to prevent mouse movement from changing current preview.

(B) To set up the folder view:

1. Disable "Remember folder view settings" add-on.
2. Enable "Folder settings" add-on.
3. Create a "Folder settings" record like this:

See Chapter 2.2 Folder View of this PDF for details.

(C) Button to sort by date: Type/Options = Background/Date Modified. Note that you have to go to a file folder before you click the "..." button on the options page.

By the way, why can't you simply click the Date column heading to sort?

Thanks - I tried all that already BUT: If I start with a pane viewing files in list view, and navigate to an image folder that I set to be large icons in the FolderView addon, the folder still shows list view, not large icons! I want the view to change automatically as I navigate to a folder of images. Yes, I could click the date heading to sort by date, but I was wanting to set the view to large icons AND date descending order using one button in the Linkbar addon (Is this possible, or do I need 2 separate buttons?). Also, it is hard to see if images are in date ascending or date descending order when the date heading is clicked on. If I had a button, I could be sure it was descending order.
