Final State Press maintains open-source projects and community spaces where content architects, writers, developers, and knowledge workers collaborate. We are committed to providing a welcoming, respectful environment for everyone — regardless of experience level, background, identity, or area of expertise.
This code of conduct applies to all community spaces managed by Final State Press, including GitHub repositories, Discussions, Issues, pull requests, and any other channels where participants interact on behalf of or in connection with these projects.
We expect participants to:
- Communicate with clarity and respect. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- Give and receive constructive feedback graciously. Honest critique of work is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Credit the contributions of others. Acknowledge prior work, cite sources, and respect intellectual effort.
- Ask questions in good faith. There are no stupid questions in a space built for learning.
- Respect the time and attention of maintainers and fellow contributors. Well-scoped issues, clear pull requests, and thoughtful discussion posts make the community stronger for everyone.
The following behaviors are not acceptable:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind.
- Sexualized language or imagery, or unwelcome sexual attention.
- Personal insults, trolling, or deliberately inflammatory remarks.
- Publishing others' private information without explicit permission.
- Sustained disruption of discussions, reviews, or other community activities.
- Any conduct that a reasonable person would consider inappropriate in a professional setting.
This code of conduct applies to all Final State Press community spaces. It also applies when an individual is representing the project in public spaces, such as using an official project email address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an event.
Instances of unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the maintainers at conduct@finalstatepress.com. All reports will be reviewed promptly and handled with discretion. The maintainers are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the reporter.
Maintainers may take any action they determine to be appropriate, including:
- A private conversation to clarify expectations.
- A formal warning with specific behavioral expectations.
- Temporary or permanent removal from community spaces.
Maintainers who do not enforce or follow the code of conduct in good faith may face consequences as determined by other members of the project leadership.
This code of conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/1/code_of_conduct/.
