Some people might need this information for Gradle projects that still use the Groovy DSL.

didn't we in the past agree that groovy dsl is basically unsupported?

I think that we generally won't support the older syntax, but, not exactly against it being on the page as ref as many people end up for some reason creating new projects with it

The original removal reason was just

I don't know the Groovy syntax of this, so it was changed to Kotlin. No sane person uses Groovy either way.
