I read the earth for a living. Not to make it simple — but to stay honest before certainty becomes expensive.

About

I am Arif Fazil, an exploration geoscientist shaped by the discipline of the subsurface.

My work sits beneath the surface: seismic lines, well correlations, basin stories, pressure, risk, prospect maturity, and the quiet discipline of saying:

I do not know yet.

The earth does not explain itself. It gives fragments.

A horizon. A log response. A pressure story. A silence where the data should be.

The work is not to force certainty onto the earth. The work is to stay honest long enough for the better interpretation to survive.

I work where evidence is incomplete, confidence has a cost, and memory matters because someone will inherit the consequence.

How I think

Name uncertainty early. Respect what the data refuses to say. Do not confuse elegance with truth. Do not turn pressure into false confidence. Preserve memory. Stay useful. Stay human.

The subsurface is not neat. People are not neat. Good judgment is often not neat either.

But it must still hold.
