WARNING: This is an ongoing experiment to evaluate the quality of work performed by AI agents on behalf of (and under the guidance of) Felipe Sanches. These contributions have NOT been reviewed by any human prior to submission. Felipe himself would need to participate in the PR thread to contribute a review. Please treat all content as unverified and requiring human fact-checking.

Summary

This is a second iteration of designer bio enrichment, addressing the criticism from previous PRs (#10164, #10166, #10167, #10168) which were reverted. Key improvements:

  • Strictly follows the Editorial Guide developed after the first iteration
  • Only verifiable, specific facts — no generic filler phrases
  • All URLs verified (HTTP 200) before submission
  • No Arctic Code Vault mentions
  • Small batch (8 designers) for easier review

Designers included

Designer ID Type Words Links
Frank Grießhammer frankgriehammer Individual (Adobe) 90 GitHub, Adobe Fonts
Sudtipos sudtipos Foundry (Argentina) 60 sudtipos.com, Instagram
Monokrom monokrom Foundry (Norway) 52 monokrom.no, Instagram
Sandoll sandoll Foundry (Korea) 80 sandoll.co.kr
Dan Sayers dansayers Individual 78 (none found active)
Denis Jacquerye denisjacquerye Individual (Luxembourg) 93 GitHub
Joe Prince joeprince Individual (Los Angeles) 51 (none found active)
Sindre Bremnes sindrebremnes Individual (Norway) 74 monokrom.no

Editorial approach

Each bio follows this structure:

  1. Opening sentence: "{Name} is a {role} based in {City, Country}."
  2. Context: 1-3 sentences of verifiable facts (education, notable typefaces, career)
  3. Links: Final paragraph with verified working URLs

All facts were researched from public sources including foundry websites, Adobe Fonts profiles, Google Design articles, Luc Devroye's typography pages, Fonts In Use, Grafill/Visuelt award records, and university pages.

What changed from v1

  • No generic phrases like "works well in both text and headlines"
  • No "has contributed fonts to Google Fonts" (meaningless for a GF bio)
  • No unverified claims
  • All links tested before submission
  • Smaller batch size for easier fact-checking

Test plan

  • All bio.html files use only <p> and <a> tags
  • All URLs return HTTP 200
  • Word count under 150 for each bio
  • Third person, present tense throughout
  • No banned content (Arctic Code Vault, superlatives, emails)
  • Human fact-check of each bio's claims

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Add bio.html files for Frank Grießhammer, Sudtipos, Monokrom,
Sandoll, Dan Sayers, Denis Jacquerye, Joe Prince, and Sindre Bremnes.

All bios follow the editorial guide: third person, present tense,
verifiable facts only, proper HTML format with only <p> and <a> tags.

I wonder whether we can express it as a general policy rule. Just like the rule that bios must not open with just the first name of a designer, would we want the same for foundry names? Or the opposite, perhaps?

When a company is known both by a short name (single word?) as well as a longer name, which one should be preferred?

If we can state that in a general phrasing, then it can be added to the AI agent's rules.

I'm really not sure about any of these tbh. I personally wouldn't want an AI generated bio for myself since the text is so short I need to control the impact myself.
