The messy cross-browser messaging logic has been simplified by extracting it into a focused wrapper function. This refactoring improves the readability and maintainability of the sendWebhook logic and ensures consistency between the utility functions and the popup script.

Key changes:

  • Introduced sendMessageToTab(tabId, message) in utils/utils.js.
  • Refactored sendWebhook in utils/utils.js to use the new utility.
  • Refactored popup/popup.js to use the global sendMessageToTab function.
  • Verified that existing tests pass and the logic remains correct.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 15133455188591244129 started by @cmuench

Extracts the complex cross-browser messaging logic into a shared
`sendMessageToTab` utility function in `utils/utils.js`. This function
provides a unified Promise-based interface for sending messages to tabs
across different browser environments (browserAPI, browser, and chrome).

Updates `sendWebhook` in `utils/utils.js` and the messaging logic in
`popup/popup.js` to use this new utility, reducing code duplication and
improving maintainability.
