This adds the information for the Spring 2026 Data Academy.

It links to a new signup sheet and curriculum sheet.

I moved the information about the previous cohorts into a collapsed callout div at the bottom.

Right now I have kept the same 15 week schedule starting April 27, with a break week in week 10, ending the week of Aug 3. This gives three weeks after the final scheduled week of the curriculum until Aug 28 (which is four months from the start of April 27).

Current licenses end April 22. I have written the dates assuming a couple of days to turn over and including the weekend April 25-26. However we did tell the previous group of people that we gave access to that we would end April 10, so we could move the start up to April 20th, but I would like to hear first from dataquest about our renewal options. If we did start a week earlier we could extend the curriculum by a week, giving learners a schedule with a bit more breathing room.

This looks good Andy, thanks for all these considerations for this next year.

For the curriculum, Stef had remembered the RStudio/Projects demo that you did that was so valuable. If you were to insert that as a week's material, which week would that be? Or would you do that at the Help Desk and not have a week focused on it? I was wondering how that could fit in with the "Break Week" or the overall length of the course.

Thanks Julie. I think it makes sense to do that RStudio Projects demo in the help desk of week 7, which is the first guided project using RStudio. But maybe it makes sense to add a week at week 7 with no new material, they can start on the guided project, and I can do the Projects demo that week (week 7), and go over the guided project the week after (new week 8). That would extend the curriculum by a week, but we have the room for that I think

@jules32 @stefaniebutland a 16 week schedule with a dedicated RStudio Projects demo (Coding Strategies flavour) could look like this?

I really like your idea of a week dedicated to your RStudio Projects demo coming right before they need to use projects. Big added value.

**What:** You will learn R for data science through lessons on the [dataquest.io](http://dataquest.io) platform. See the [curriculum] below. The Data Academy is **asynchronous** so you can complete the lessons on your own schedule, and also **cohort-based** so you’ll get to know your colleagues and have accountability. The Openscapes team will provide support through optional **synchronous help desk hours and coworking** and a **dedicated Google Space** for help. A training certificate will be issued for each module completed.

I don't recall the right language for Fisheries "office or center" i.e. does office seemingly exclude folks or do they know better?

@eeholmes do you have any insight as the correct language for "office" or "centre" for FTE's and affiliates?

I think you could go with "FTEs and Affiliates from any Fisheries center or office"

we've used that before. Sorry I should have suggested that before.
